Pituitary gland abnormalities of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal axis during childhood are frequently associated with pituitary deficiency. We present a 5-year-old boy with growth retardation with the diagnosis, hypoplasia of hypophysis and the presentation of ectopic neurohypophysis without any anterior pituitary hormone deficiency. Magnetic resonance imaging is the modality to study the anatomical details of the pituitary hypothalamic region and the relationship between the visibility of the pituitary stalk and anterior pituitary function in growth hormonedeficient children showing ectopic neurohypophysis. Ektopik nörohipofiz
Bu olgu sunumunda gelişme geriliği ve büyüme hormonu eksikliği ile izlenen beş yaşında bir erkek çocukta hipofiz hipoplazisi ile birlikte saptanan ektopik nörohipofize ait yüksek sinyal yoğunluğunun manyetik rezonans görüntüleme (MRG) özelliklerini sunduk. Manyetik rezonans görüntüleme hipotalamo-hipofizer yoldaki anatomik ayrıntıları gösteren ve büyüme hormonu eksikliği bulunan ektopik nörohipofizli çocuklarda hipofiz sapının ve ön hipofiz bezinin değerlendirilmesinde tercih edilen görüntüleme yöntemidir.(Turk Arş Ped 2007; 42: 80-1)
